Muzik-Patnaz presents… Exclusive Interview with the famous 334 MO.B.B. aka the Beat Kings out of Alabama. Need a beat? M-P: Wut up 334 Mob, thanks for having the time to do the interview lets start to talk a little bit about 334 Mob. Where are you from and who are the members of 334 Mob and when you have you founded the group? 334 MOBB: We are from Alabama the GUMP aka Montgomery, Southside. The Members are: Supa Star aka Big Ken and Sawed-Off 2 blood brothers. M-P: When have you started the idea to make music? What was the idea for it? 334 MOBB: we started a long time ago when we was little our pops had us singing in church and different thangs then we went astray and started the rapping thang, the idea was to let folks feel our struggle and to bring them into our world. M-P: Have you always played/ did beats in this in this formation, how did you find together? 334 MOBB: well we aint always did beats. What happen was we aint no money to pay producers for beats so one day Supa Star just learned on his own went From a lil cheap keyboard to a Casio and moved up to an MPC, Triton, Prodius, Etc. M-P: Do you own a studio? Let the people know how you work on the beats and what equipment you use ? 334 MOBB: Our team does own a studio a member of Black Drop ENT. & Beat Kingz named T-Man does all the recordings, we be in the studio at least 3 times a week just getting work done If times will allow. We get like 3 songs done in a day; we might even start freestyling on the mic Or start playing around singing a hook and T-Man be like get in the booth and sing the sh*t And sometime the best songs come out when you don’t go in expecting to do them. We use Pro tools or a 1680 for beats: MPC 2000, Prodius rack, Motif Rack, Triton, shit I might even Do pre production on my Casio then re-play it on the big shit. M-P: On which major events have you performed? 334 MOBB: way too many to name folk, we done so many clubs, and b-day bashes and record pool meetings, and auditions for labels its crazy. M-P: Let the people know what major artists you worked with? 334 MOBB: just a few like: Bone Crusher, David Banner, Raheem the Dream, Sammy Sam,T-Rock formerly of 3-6 Mafia, Dem Franchize boyz came by the House to listen to some tracks, Been in the studio with Killer Mike just Politikan gave him some tracks so it’s a few folks we worked with. M-P: What projects are you working on? There any special things coming up we have to know? 334 MOBB: We are working on the mix cd/album called: HERE IN DA GUTTA VOL.1 its gonna be packed with hit after hit. Original material, some jacked stuff Features will be: DJ Drama,DJ Jelly,DJ Bobby Black, even your own DJ Hotsauce Did a drop for the mix cd the list goes on and on………..we are also deciding rather We should package up a dvd with the mix cd or not. THE SINGLES are coming Be patient folks: Uh Ohh (They Fighting) ft.T-rock formerly of 3-6 Mafia, Other song: Nah Mean that song is blazing!!! I a killa remix feat.Bone crusher and David Banner a lot more is coming from 334 MOBB. M-P: Who were/are your idols? Who u would love to work with? 334 MOBB: well we used to listen Pastor Troy all the time but he became little but too commercial. But Our idol is our Dad if it wasn’t for him nothing would be going on, he had faith in us before anybody was sending interviews or wanting us to jump on songs he CEO the boss. Supa Star aka Big Ken: I wanna work with ScarFace and Anthony Hamilton Sawed-OFF: maybe Twista,or crucial conflict. M-P: So let`s go on and change the topic, and talk about the music industry. The Internet had changed the way we listen to music completely. What do u thing about downloading music etc. Does help them artist ? You think fans wil still buy they album if they good? 334 MOBB: I think the internet can mostly help new artist that need exposure, that need folks to download there stuff. In all actuality the internet can make an underground artist known to the masses. We receive e-mails from all over the US just received an e-mail from the UK wanting to collab. Its funny we already have fans in Cali waz up too the 69 Kingz I mean not only black, but white, Mexicans list goes on. But as for a major artist it really hurts them because I hear folks saying: TI aint went platinum yet but he has already counting the damn bootleggers and downloading a lot of artist are really doing good numbers but this downloading is killing they shit. Only way somebody downloads and buy your real album is if its really a classic album and they feel they just have to get the original which is rare these days. Half of these artist are dropping bullshit albums why would anyone spend 20 bucks on a wack ass album where all your songs sound like your first single they would be a fool too. M-P: Do you thing the internet is good for the the underground rap artist? You think they could promote themselves thru the internet and get money of if? 334 MOBB: like we said uptop this internet is powerful, our internet promoter comes back with all type of numbers of new people that are hearing the 334 MOBB name. But there are also a lot of wack mothafuckaz on the internet that rap so they just promote for nothing because they music sounds like it was recording on the cheapest mic in the world and dropped on there soundlcick page. But sites like IAP-TV.COM,SOUTHWEST-CONNECTION.COM,help underground artist Get to the masses and that’s how you do it. And for these indie acts Go to BEAT-KINGZ.COM and promote your music on the message board Some one will give you honest feedback if your shit is trash it will be called Just that. We just opened our online store up selling 334 shirts, hats, DJ MASAKER MIX CD START A FGHT HOSTED BY: 334 MOBB,we are also taking pre-orders For our mixtape/album the numbers are looking real good we cant ship orders out fast enuff So there is money on the internet. M-P: What do you think how important are Djs like DJ Jelly , DJ Hotsauce etc and their Mixtapes for you and the music industry? What do you think about record pools? 334 MOBB: DJ are the most important factor in breaking music, without the dj’s you are nothing. They have the power to let music be heard to the masses, them playing your songs at a big event Not only hits there ears but every person hears your music. 334 MOBB deals with all The mixtape dj’s aint no telling what a&r might be playing a DJ Hotsauce mixtape We were just Politikan with DJ Jelly a few days ago, its good to hear what songs dj’s say They feel are the hits we take there word like gold. And most rap folk don’t understand If they hood aint bumping it its not a hot record we deal with DJ’S like BIG GEEDAMME,DJ BURN ONE,DJ SCREAM,DJ DRAMA,DJ CHUCK T.DJ SMALLZ, because there mixtapes get heavy Rotation in the hood, the average nigga in the hood aint listening to commercial radio But I know damn well they got a damn mix cd in they car its almost like the ghetto news on a cd. Record Pools are (Very Vital) in getting your records to the dj’s without them your record Is nothing again, you need pools artist find out how many vinyls and cd’s each pool needs and Service them. Big Ups to: TJ’S DJ’S record pool.Legion Of Doom,Bum Squad DJ’s,SNA record pools, these are vital people in breaking records,I mean if the major labels are dealing with them You damn well indie acts better deal with them. But a lot of folks don’t know the game. You servicing a record Pool like TJ’S DJ’S you can have a whole region of Florida locked, And servicing MUZIK-PATNAZ they are huge in Germany as Jelly said when we talked. M-P: Everybody is talking about Atlanta as the mecca of the music industry ? What makes this city so special with all that artist like outkast , oomp camp, lil jon, ying yang twins , dj smurf etc. 334 MOBB: Well we stay in Atlanta right now, so we see that Atlanta Is a melting pot of all type of folks, its people from NYC, NC, Texas, this city is over flowing with all different kind of people. That’s why when a station Like HOT 107 breaks records they are accepted by the masses, because not only Do ATL folks, hearing these songs you got new Yorkers also like the record. M-P: Is crunk music the future of rap? Who are the pioneers of Crunk music? 334 MOBB: I think crunk music is here now, but I think it’s gonna play out real fast, and its gonna turn to folks rapping on crunk beats are gonna have to be spitting some lyrical shit. It’s getting real old hearing the same ol bullshit all day from a dude that went to a pep rally and made up a good hook that is rapping about nothing a whole verse But rather crunk music stays or goes 334 MOBB will be able to do Whatever style of music that is in. I can’t say the same for some other Groups a lot of these groups would get laughed at trying to rap back When GOODIE MOB was in there prime and when OUTKAST was doing Southerplayalistic music. Rap needs to go back to grassroots so we can Weed out the non-rappers and the niggaz who cant rap worth nothing. The pioneers of crunk music are: Sammy Sam, Pastor Troy, and 3-6 Mafia. M-P: What about Miami Bass is it still alive, or is crunk the result of it? 334 MOBB: a lot of folks say Lil Jon is the new Luke and I hear folks saying CRUNK Music is nothing but Bass music slowed down. So I guess it is,I mean we Were real young when all that Luke shit was really popping Off. M-P: Is there anything you would like say to the people here in Germany? 334 MOBB: GERMANY 334 MOBB is here now,Muzik-Patnaz are really helping American folks get a better inside on Germany because a lot of folks didn’t even know German people were into Southern Music. Really until hot sauce came to us we didn’t know either. But we wanna let Germany know to PICK UP DJ JELLY AND DJ HOTSAUCE CD FROM THE ATL TO GERMANY listen to the first song: Uh Ohh they Fighting That’s 334 MOBB and we will be there to visit you all soon.
